I've read about OpenMW a bit but I always avoided it. )Ĥ) Now that looks like a very tempting option. That's why I wanted one all-in package - to avoid spending months searching for proper graphic replacers and realizing in the end that I screwed everything up and have to start again from a scratch. I mostly want better models, textures and possibly some additions to the game world like trees or grass. Just wanted to significantly improve look of the game but I could cope with reduced MGE XE options - even to the point of completely disabling them. I wasn't going to create some sort of extremely high quality graphic improvement anyway though.
:D If I remember everything right you can also manually delete certain sounds from this mod - by overwriting them with a "silent" sound file if I remember everything right.ģ) That sounds pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure though that this guide covers updating all of the patch-like mods and fixes so hopefully it would help to have a bug-free game.Ģ) With a bit of imagination and possibly even some mod I could bear that. I will try to figure it out later (and if someone has already figured that out then I would be grateful for letting me know).
:)ġ) As for bugs I'm okay with them as long as the guide I mentioned gets rid of them. But I'm speaking about that kind of situations.Īny help, honest opinions and feedback would be really appreciated. After reading a bit it seems that MAO is still too buggy to be used on a regular basis that's why I didn't rule out MGSO already. For example the "sound" part of MGSO is covered mainly by "Duncan's Atmospheric Sound Effects" but a new mod called "Morrowind Acoustic Overhaul" has been released in the meantime which does the job better. What I really mean by outdated in this context is the situation when some large and really good "essential" mod (for improving graphics & sounds) has been released since the last time MGSO was officially updated. I know that manually picking every single mod is always the best way to go but I don't feel like spending two months installing all that stuff. By outdated I'm certainly not speaking about the situation in which a new mudcrab retexture was released and it's "far superior" to MGSO's. Let me explain to you what I mean by saying "outdated". Or should I rather avoid it since it's outdated? Now my question is - is MGSO still the best way to "improve" your graphics, sounds and eliminate bugs? We are talking about properly updated version of course. is there anyone who could comment on that? ) I didn't ever use it however and I don't know anyone who did.

According to the description, this guide helps you to fix all known bugs present in MGSO and update the old stuff. The only problem is the fact that it's not really up to date. The most popular and the fastest way to improve a lot of things really fast is the so called MGSO. Hey! I played Morrowind a thousand times without mods, quite a few times with certain mods but I didn't really ever touch mods that are meant to improve graphics and sound.
